lets look inside.

MirrororriM

Advertisements to stop the habits of smoking becomes very exaggerated, being placed on buses public places, bus stops and even on the cigarette box itself.

Its clear that of these smokers are actually young adults of merely 18 and had started to pick up smoking on their legal age or even before. The government impose on high fines and narrowed down on the areas that are legal to light up a stick in public places, banned on cigarettes adverts and constantly spreading the knowledge of the negative side effects of smoking.

The need to let these young adults know that smoking is a huge responsibility is very vital. we need to target these age group and drive hard on getting them to understand this bad habits and of cause, stop them before cigarettes destroy their future during their prime stage.

The adverts were to be place on school toilets, both on male and female. Also at the glass panel in the giving picture. but the idea on placing it in the toilet was much more ideal as toilets are usually the place where they take a leak and have some time pondering what it really mean on the mirror. the second location would placing the same idea onto the glass panels of the class rooms. this was done to actually create a vision of xray through a anyone's chest who steps near the glass panels. in addition, the art is made on a transparency sheet where it does not cover but instead putting a top layer of the subject being near the art.

The mirror acts as a self reflection and as they gets closer to the art on the mirror, its creates a responds of reflecting on what they cant see on the outside and opening their eyes on what's really going on in them when they choose smoking. same goes for the ones on the glass panel, to create an xray eye for the viewers to actually realizing the negative impacts on smoking.

Feedbacks from the audiences are much appreciated as they honestly thought that it was a great approach and the target audience, students, were clear in terms of location, located in school's toilet. As a smoke free campus, it also creates a more strong approach to not smoke in the toilet and at the same time stating the consequences of smoking instead of the same old signs of "no smoking". in addition, the audience seems to be very interested in more pictorial adverts and those that interacts with them then just plain words and warnings. thus, i conclude that the thought and the idea of approach was well planned.

Aside from the positive feedbacks, some says that they could not really relate to the poster as they do not really understand or especially for the non-smokers,where they think its very distracting and unnecessary to have it place on the mirror. they added that the words, describing the burnt lungs were not clear, as in its hard to read, suggesting that it should be bigger and having a better way to place the additional words without having the problem of the words being reflected also. they also prefer that instead of a drawing, it should be in colour, to show realism and the true form of a smokers lungs.

it was not a very good approach when it was being place on the glass panels as it does not delivers the intended massage directly to the audience itself but to the people around them instead. (reflecting on others instead of self).

these are some of the pictures being taken upon the viewers interacting with the art.
